Getting access to NDIS Cleaning Services
What is the NDIS and what can be funded?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian disability insurance program which provides funding for supports for people with intellectual, cognitive, sensory, physical, and psychosocial disabilities. It also assists parents/guardians to gain assistance for children with developmental delays using early intervention techniques. The NDIS support requests that are considered reasonable or necessary to assist in increasing a disabled persons independence, pursuing goals and objectives, increasing social and economic participation in activities.
In-home supports like domestic assistance, cleaning and organising are often considered a reasonable and necessary support to assist a person living with a disability. These supports help the person to keep their home clean, tidy and hygienic. This is usually outlined in your plan as to whether you can access this support. If it isn’t, you can discuss using your core funding flexibly with your support coordinator, local area coordinator, or plan manager.
What assistance can Almikleen home services provide to NDIS recipients?
Almikleen can provide many cleaning services to people with access to NDIS funding. Almikleen are proud to support the NDIS. We have many cleaning services available including recurring household cleaning, spring cleaning, deep cleaning, window cleaning and organising, to name a few of our most popular services. We can assist people who are plan managed or self managed to keep their house clean, tidy and organised. Our administration department can send the invoice directly to your plan manager, leaving you with no initial out of pocket expenses to be reimbursed by the NDIS.
When you make contact with us, we will organise for a service agreement and our information pack to be sent to either yourself or your support coordinator. This can all be completed electronically to save time and paper resources.
Almikleen are experienced in assisting people with any disabilities. Our team are educated on invisible and visible disabilities and are required to complete the NDIS induction units as a minimum. Once staff have commenced with us, they complete thorough one-on-one training sessions with a senior cleaner or manager of the team.
What steps do i take next?
If you haven’t organised your funding, you would need to seek out assistance from your medical professional/s and the NDIS. They can assist you in gaining the right support for your needs. When you have received funding, you will have what’s called a ‘plan’ and that will outline different services the NDIS have approved to fund for you.
Once you know that you have funding, all you need to do is get in touch with us at Almikleen and we can quote your cleaning requirements. You might feel like a big spring clean is first off and then some regular cleaning each fortnight or you might not be sure where to start. We can help develop a cleaning plan with you, that you feel comfortable with.
